OPTION 1 — Public Safety & Consumer Protection (Most versatile)

Why this matters to me:
As someone who lives and/or works in this community, I believe statutory registration of naturopathy and Western herbal medicine is important for public safety and consumer protection. These professions are widely used by Australians and often involve managing complex health conditions, yet currently operate outside a nationally consistent regulatory framework. Statutory registration would ensure clear professional standards, protected titles, effective complaints mechanisms, and appropriate regulatory oversight—bringing naturopathy into line with other health professions and strengthening public confidence in the health system.

OPTION 2 — Personal / Community Impact (Highly personalisable)

Why this matters to me:
This issue matters to me because naturopathy plays a meaningful role in the health choices of many people in our community, including [my patients / my family / myself]. Without national regulation, there is no consistent way for the public to distinguish between properly trained practitioners and unqualified providers. Statutory registration would improve transparency, accountability, and safety, while supporting access to qualified, ethical practitioners who meet recognised education and practice standards.

OPTION 3 — Health System Integration & Reform

Why this matters to me:
I see statutory registration as an important step toward a more integrated and coordinated healthcare system. Naturopaths already function as part of primary healthcare for many Australians, yet the absence of national regulation limits collaboration with other registered health professionals and creates gaps in accountability. Bringing naturopathy under NRAS would support safer referral pathways, clearer scope of practice, and better integration within Australia’s broader health system.

OPTION 4 — Short & Direct (For busy MPs)

Why this matters to me:
In my view, statutory registration of naturopathy and Western herbal medicine is a practical and proportionate reform that would strengthen public safety, professional standards, and accountability in a widely used area of healthcare. National regulation would align these professions with existing health frameworks and better protect consumers.
