I am a constituent of your electorate and a member of the Australian Register of Naturopaths and Herbalists (ARONAH). I am writing to ask for your support for the inclusion of naturopathy and Western herbal medicine in the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme (NRAS).
A 2025 independent review, Assuring Safe and Integrated Health Care: A Review of the Risks, Benefits, and Regulatory Requirements for the Professions of Naturopathy and Western Herbal Medicine, assessed these professions against AHMAC criteria and concluded that statutory regulation is appropriate, feasible, and in the public interest, with benefits outweighing potential costs.
ARONAH and the Australian Naturopathic Council have now formally submitted an application to government. I respectfully ask that you support its consideration by health ministers.
